What is Aciloc 300 Mg?
Aciloc Tablet is a prescription medicine that is used for the short-term treatment and maintenance of stomach ulcer (duodenal ulcer). This medicine works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach and relieves the symptoms of indigestion and heartburn. This medicine helps by preventing the production of excess acid in the stomach. Aciloc Tablet is also used to treat hypersecretory condition in which stomach produces more than normal amount of acid (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and systemic mastocytosis), for the short-term treatment and maintenance of less damaging stomach ulcer (active and benign gastric ulcer)
How Aciloc 300 Mg working
Aciloc 300 Tablet is a H2 blocker (antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.
How is Aciloc 300 Mg used?
Aciloc Tablet is used with or after food. In the case of a stomach ulcer (duodenal ulcer), it is not necessary to adjust the dose in relation to meals. Aciloc syrup can also be given after evening meals or at bedtime for the patients in whom dosing convenience is important. Aciloc Tablet is used usually at bedtime.
The typical dose of Aciloc is 150 and 300 mg twice daily or at bedtime and 75 mg once or twice daily during day or night and 25 mg. The usual dose for children is 2-4 up to 150-300 mg/kg/day once or twice daily and 5-10 mg/kg/day. The maximum adult dose of Aciloc is 300 mg in a day. This medicine is typically used for a period of 4 weeks for stomach ulcers, 4-8 weeks for stomach ulcers associated with NSAIDs treatment, 2 weeks for digestive disorder (gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD), and 8-12 weeks for inflammation of food pipe (oesophagitis). Aciloc can be taken as 300 mg or 20 ml and 150 mg or 10 ml of syrup can be given at bedtime or twice daily. Aciloc tablet can be taken as 300 mg at bedtime or twice daily and 150 mg twice daily. This medicine is not known to be habit-forming.

The use of this medicine may change prothrombin time. Aciloc increases or decreases prothrombin time when taken with warfarin (anticoagulant).
The use of Aciloc Tablet may change liver enzyme (SGPT). Aciloc increases liver enzyme (SGPT) when given at greater than recommended dose in injection form.
Aciloc Tablet should be used only when required in patients who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Aciloc Tablet should be used while breastfeeding only when required. Aciloc may pass into breast milk so caution should be taken. It is not known if this medicine is safe for use in women who are conceiving. Consult with your doctor before you use Aciloc Tablet. No data has been reported regarding fertility.
Avoid drinking alcohol with Aciloc.
Aciloc can make you feel sleepy. Be careful, especially while driving, while using heavy machinery, or when doing any activity that needs you to be completely alert. The consumption of alcohol with Aciloc can worsen the sleepiness.
