Uses of Donecept 5mg
Donecept 5mg Tablet is used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and dementia in Parkinson's disease. It should be used in patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
What is Donecept 5mg?
Donecept 5mg Tablet is used for Forgetfulness, Moderate to severe alzheimer's disease, Memory disorders, Dementia of the alzheimer’s type, Mental confusion, Impaired reasoning and other conditions. Donecept 5mg Tablet may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
How Donecept 5mg working?
Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease occurs due to disturbances of signal transmission in the brain. Donecept 5mg Tablet is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) involved in transmmission of nerve signals. This improves memory and thinking.
How is Donecept 5mg used?
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Donecept 5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Contraindication Of Donecept 5mg
Hypersensitivity to Donecept 5mg Tablet is a contraindication. In addition, Donecept 5mg Tablet should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- History of fits or heart disorders
- Hypersensitivity to donepezil hydrochloride or to piperidine derivatives
- Renal tubular acidosis
- Urinary tract infections

Special Precautions And Related Warnings Of Donecept 5mg
Donecept 5mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Donecept 5mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

Donepezil hydrochloride is not intended for use in children and adolescents younger than 18 years.
