Enalapril is used to treat high blood pressure. It is a prescription medicine. This medicine works by blocking the action of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which is responsible for the conversion of angiotensin I to the vasoconstrictor substance, angiotensin II, that results in increased blood pressure. This pills helps by reducing the increased blood pressure. Enalapril is also used to treat symptomatic heart failure.
