What is ERYTHROMYCIN 500 MG?
Erythromycin Stearate tablet is a help to treat certain bacterial infections which includes mild to intermediate upper respiratory tract infections such as inflammation of the tonsil, throat, voice box, and cavities around the nasal passages, pus-filled pocket behind the tonsil, and secondary epidemic in influenza. It is also used to treat lower respiratory tract infections such as inflammation of the windpipe, severe inflammation of the lining of airways of the lungs , pneumonia, pneumonia of newborn baby, damaged airways of the lungs, outer ear,, eye infections such as inflammation of the eyelid and inflammation of the eye of the newborn and oral infections such as gum inflammation and painful gums infection.

Erythrocin 500 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins needed by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing and detain the infection from spreading.
Take the missed dose as soon as you memorize. Skip the missed one if it's time for the next dose. Avoid taking a twice dose to make up for the missed dose.
In case of overdose, stop using this drug and provide monitoring with supportive care to such patients. Stomach emptying should be performed by cleaning out the contents of the belly.

Precautions And Warnings
Before you use Erythromycin Stearate, tell your doctor of your medical history including diarrhea associated with Clostridium difficile bacteria. The treatment with Erythromycin Stearate alter the microorganisms that live in the intestine resulting in the overgrowth of C.difficile bacteria. The incidence of mild to possibly fatal diarrhea associated with Clostridium difficile has been announcing to occur within 2 months of the use of antibacterial agents.
The use of this drug may change the liver enzyme. An increase in the liver enzyme levels is seen in patients receiving Erythromycin Stearate.
