Lumigan Eye Drop is a prostaglandin analog that is used for the treatment of increased fluid pressure inside the eye (intraocular hypertension) and open-angle glaucoma, a progressive condition that may eventually lead to vision loss. The topical ophthalmic form of this medicine is used for the treatment of inadequate amount of eyelashes (hypotrichosis); it increases their length, thickness, and darkness. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 16 years of age.

How Lumigan Eye Drop working?
Lumigan Eye Drop is a prostaglandin analogue. It works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.
How is Lumigan Eye Drop used?
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.
Lumigan Eye Drop Indications
Use this medicine exactly as prescribed. Do not administer in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Contraindication Of Lumigan Eye Drop
Hypersensitivity to Lumigan Eye Drop is a contraindication. In addition, Lumigan Eye Drop should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- Abnormal liver function tests
- Absent eye lens
- Inflammation of the iris
- Inflammation of the uvea of the eye
- Macular swelling and degeneration of the eye

- Blurred vision
- Double vision
- Change in color vision
- Eye color changes
- Eye discharge
- Increase in hair growth
- Burning or itching of eyes
- Redness of the eye
- Eye swelling
- Eye pain
Special Precautions And Related Warnings Of Lumigan Eye Drop
Lumigan Eye Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lumigan Eye Drop is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby. To reduce the amount of Lumigan Eye Drop that reaches the breastmilk, place pressure over the corner of the eye for 1 minute or more, then remove the excess solution with an absorbent tissue.
For best results, put one drop once a day in the evening/night in the affected eye.
Your eyelashes may become more dense and eyelid skin may darken. These changes should disappear after discontinuing Lumigan Eye Drop.
Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after instilling the drop.
Storage Conditions for Lumigan Eye Drop
Keep your Lumigan Eye Drop in a cool place where the temperature stays below 25°C. Keep the bottle where children cannot reach it. Do not leave the top/lid off the bottle for any length of time to avoid contaminating the eye drops.
