What is Silofast 8mg?

Silofast 8 Capsule is used for Problems with urination, Increased urgency, Incomplete emptying, Hesitancy, Problems urinating and other conditions. Silofast 8 Capsule may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Silofast 8 Capsule contains Silodosin as an active ingredient.

Silofast 8 Capsule works by blocking the alpha-1 receptors located in the muscles of human prostate, urinary bladder and urethra and relaxes these muscles.

How Silofast 8mg working

Silofast 8 Capsule is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily.

Silofast 8mg Indications

Take this medicine with food. Do not take in larger amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Silofast 8mg Dosage

Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose

Special Precautions And Related Warnings Of Silofast 8mg

Hepatic impairment - This medicine should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver function impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of liver function tests, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Elderly patients - This medicine should be used with caution in the elderly patients due to the increased risk of a very low blood pressure. Regular monitoring of blood pressure levels is necessary for these patients. Report any unusual symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, etc. to the doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Cataract surgery - Use of this medicine increases the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome. Patients undergoing cataract surgery should inform the surgeon about the current or previous use of this medicine, so that the surgeon can make appropriate changes in the surgical technique to reduce the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome.

Driving or Operating machinery - Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Antifungal drug intake

Avoid standing up suddenly from bed

Caution has to be take before operating an automobile or machinery

Consult a doctor if you have renal or hepatic disorders

Intake of cyclosporine, diltiazem, prazosin, verapamil

Storage Conditions for Silofast 8mg
