Tretinoin, also known as all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA), is a naturally occurring derivative of vitamin A (retinol). Retinoids such as tretinoin are important regulators of cell reproduction, proliferation, and differentiation and are used to treat acne and photodamaged skin and to manage keratinization disorders such as ichthyosis and keratosis follicularis. Tretinoin also represents the class of anticancer drugs called differentiating agents and is used in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL).

SUPATRET 0.04% Aqueous Gel capsule is used for the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukaemia.
SUPATRET 0.04% Aqueous Gel cream/gel is used for the treatment of acne, fine lines, wrinkles and other skin diseases.
SUPATRET 0.04% Aqueous Gel may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.
How Supatret Gel 0.04% 20 gm working
Supatret 0.04% Gel is a form of vitamin A. When applied on scalp, it works by promoting the growth of hair follicles, thereby stimulating hair growth. When used on skin, it reduces oil production in the skin, replenishes acne-prone skin and helps keep your pores open.
How is Supatret Gel 0.04% 20 gm used?
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

For the the induction of remission in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), French-American-British (FAB) classification M3 (including the M3 variant); For the topical treatment of acne vulgaris, flat warts and other skin conditions (psoriasis, ichthyosis congenita, icthyosis vulgaris, lamellar icthyosis, keratosis palmaris et plantaris, epidermolytic hyperkeratosis, senile comedones, senile keratosis, keratosis follicularis (Darier's disease), and basal cell carcinomas.); For palliative therapy to improve fine wrinkling, mottled hyperpigmentation, roughness associated with photodamage.

If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Trouble breathing. Very bad headache. Very upset stomach or throwing up. Any bruising or bleeding. Sudden change in eyesight, eye pain, or irritation. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.

You have been prescribed Supatret 0.04% Gel for the treatment of acne.
Clean the area to be treated with water and a non-medicated soap, and let it dry for 20-30 minutes before applying Supatret 0.04% Gel.
It may increase the severity of the lesions in the first few weeks of use. Continue using it as prescribed by your doctor.
It may cause stinging sensation or a feeling of warmth when you first start using it. Inform your doctor if this persists.
Avoid exposure to sunlight while using Supatret 0.04% Gel as it increases the sensitivity of your skin. Use protective measures such as sun-cream or protective clothing.
Do not use Supatret 0.04% Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Supatret 0.04% Gel may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
