How Toba DM Eye Drop working?
Toba DM Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Dexamethasone and Tobramycin. Dexamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy. Toba DM Eye Drop is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
How is Toba DM Eye Drop used?
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

Strictly follow the instructions on the label and take Toba 0.3 % Eye Drops only as directed. Drink plenty of water to avoid kidney damage. Contraindication Of Toba DM Eye Drop
Hypersensitivity to Toba DM Eye Drop is a contraindication. In addition, Toba DM Eye Drop should not be used if you have the following conditions:
- Severe renal impairment
- Sulfa allergy
- Systemic fungal infection

Special Precautions And Related Warnings Of Toba DM Eye Drop
Pregnancy - This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women.
Breast-feeding - This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. Eye drops or ear drops of this medicine may be used since they present little or no risk to the nursing infant. Discuss all the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking this medicine.
Drug resistance - Use of Toba DM Eye Drop without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.
Neuromuscular disorders - Toba DM Eye Drop is not recommended for use in patients with existing neuromuscular diseases like Parkinsonism or Myasthenia gravis since it may worsen the condition of the patient.
Impaired kidney function - Toba DM Eye Drop may increase the risk of kidney injury, especially when high doses are used for a prolonged period of time. Suitable dose adjustments should be made based on the creatinine clearance (CrCl).
