This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 16 years of age.

How Travatan Eye Drop working?

Travatan Eye Drop is a prostaglandin analogue. It works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye), thereby lowering the increased eye pressure.

How is Travatan Eye Drop used?

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

Travatan Eye Drop Indications

Use this medicine exactly as prescribed. Do not administer in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Contraindication Of Travatan Eye Drop

Hypersensitivity to Travatan Eye Drop is a contraindication. In addition, Travatan Eye Drop should not be used if you have the following conditions:

  • Inflammation of inner parts of the eye
  • Lactation
  • Pregnancy
  • Undergone eye surgery

Special Precautions And Related Warnings Of Travatan Eye Drop

Travatan Eye Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Travatan Eye Drop should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

Travatan Eye Drop does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Travatan Eye Drop may cause brown pigmentation of the iris which may be permanent.

Travatan Eye Drop helps lower high pressure in the eye and reduces the risk of vision loss.

Your eyelashes may become more dense and eyelid skin may darken. These changes should disappear after discontinuing Travatan Eye Drop.

Storage Conditions for Travatan Eye Drop

Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children and pets.
