Description

Cifran 1000 MG pill is an antibiotic that is used to treat a variety of bacterial epidemic such as bronchitis, pneumonia, gonococcal infection, etc. This drug is not recommended for use in case of a common cold, flu, or other viral infections since it is active against infections caused by bacteria only. This medicine should be used with caution in the elderly population as it increases the risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture.

What is CIFRAN OD 1000 MG?

Cifran OD Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, soft tissues, bone and joints. Cifran OD is also used to treat various respiratory tract infections including bronchitis and sinus, to treat bacterial infections in other parts of the body including, urinary tract infections, kidneys, stomach, intestines, and ears, to treat sexually transmitted infections, such as, gonorrhoea, to treat typhoid fever and infectious diarrhea, and to treat certain potentially fatal infectious diseases, including, anthrax and plague.

How CIFRAN OD 1000 MG working

Cifran OD 1gm Tablet ER is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the actus of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.

Dosage

Missed Dose

A missed dose should be taken as early as you remember it. However, if the time for the next dose is almost there, then the missed dose should be skipped, and the regular dosing schedule should be continuative. Avoid taking a repeated dose to make up for a missed dose.

Overdose

In case of overdose, the toxic effect of the drug can be treated by inducing vomiting or cleaning out the contents of the stomach. Monitor the functioning of the kidney, urinary pH and acidify to prevent the crystalluria. Also, aluminum, calcium, or magnesium-containing antacids can be taken to impair the Cifran OD absorption.

Storage

Follow storage instructions on the manufacture package if available. Store Cifran OD Tablet at room temperature 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F), away from moisture, and away from light. Store this medicine away from children and pets.
